Innovation as a driving force
Dedicated to the technical, practical and aesthetic performance of the products they design, the Blanchon Group’s teams are constantly on the alert to anticipate the expectations of users. Open mindedness, creativity and curiosity: their unlimited imagination allows them to draw their inspiration from new areas, such as tools, fashion and new technologies! Part of its DNA from the outset, innovation is a reality that is deeply rooted within the Group. As proof, 30% of its turnover now comes from products less than 3 years old.
Sometimes, you find what you're not looking for!
To innovate, you have to think outside the box! Curiosity and boldness are very special qualities in our jobs. We regularly test raw materials from other sectors: for example, to develop a finish that protects wood against yellowing, we look at the UV filters used in cosmetics. And then, we sometimes discover a chemical molecule with unsuspected properties! It is on the basis of this principle of serendipity that we developed our range of depolluting finishings.

Promoting cross-cutting innovation
Cross-cutting innovation - what does that mean in concrete terms? At Blanchon, we believe that innovation can have multiple sources and encompass different areas. For example, you can innovate on the product itself, but also on how to sell it. My role is to facilitate the exchange between the different teams to encourage this innovation and to seek out good ideas wherever they may be. For example, I frequently go to trade shows that are a long way from our world. That is an excellent source of inspiration!
